GERALD ANDERSON HONORED BY PCG FOR TYPHOON CARINA RESCUE WORK

Actor Gerald Anderson was honored with a “search and rescue medal” by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) for his volunteer work aiding Typhoon Carina victims.

The award, presented by PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan at a ceremony in Manila, recognizes exceptional voluntary search and rescue efforts.

Anderson, who is an Army reservist and Auxiliary Commander at the PCG, gained attention last month for rescuing a family stranded in floodwaters in Quezon City.

His past rescue efforts include helping during Typhoon Ondoy and supporting various relief operations, including aiding Aetas in Zambales and providing COVID-19 medical supplies.

PCG spokesperson Rear Admiral Armand Balilo praised Anderson for his consistent involvement in disaster relief.
