GCash has doubled its profit contribution to Globe Telecom Inc. to P1.9 billion in the first quarter, highlighting its growing role in the digital economy ahead of a possible public listing.
Globe Fintech Innovations Inc. (Mynt) said the amount rose by 120 percent from the previous quarter and now accounts for about 30 percent of Globe’s pre-tax profit.
While Globe officials said GCash has no set timeline for an initial public offering, they noted the company remains open to capital-raising options and is focused on product expansion.
GCash continues to expand its financial services, having extended over P406 billion in loans to more than 11 million borrowers and growing its user base largely among low-income Filipinos outside Metro Manila.
The platform also reported strong growth in investments, insurance, and crypto services, reinforcing its push for financial inclusion and digital finance adoption.
