Actor Lee Yi Kyung and his agency SANGYOUNG ENT have issued an official statement following reports of a tax penalty linked to his one-man agency.
The National Tax Service reportedly found that some of Lee’s personal income may have been classified as company earnings, leading to lower corporate tax payments.
The agency denied any intentional tax evasion, saying the issue resulted from differing interpretations of how certain expenses should be reported.
It also said Lee fully cooperated with the audit, submitted all required documents, and has always complied with tax laws since his debut.
Despite the dispute, the agency said it will pay the penalty and improve its accounting systems to prevent similar issues in the future.
