The National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) awarded PHP100,000 each to four Aeta centenarians in Capas, Tarlac, under the Expanded Centenarians Act.
The ceremony at the Capas Events Center also included felicitation letters from President Marcos recognizing their milestone.
NCSC Chairperson Ma. Merceditas Gutierrez thanked partners for helping release the grants quickly and assured senior citizens faster access to benefits via cash or bank transfer.
Local officials and lawmakers personally greeted the centenarians and highlighted ongoing efforts to support senior welfare.
The NCSC clarified that all beneficiaries received their grants, addressing social media claims that the Aeta elders were overlooked.
