Former President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Ronald Dela Rosa will be invited to hearings by four House of Representatives committees investigating the links between Philippine offshore gaming operator (Pogo) hubs and the drug trade.
The invitation aims to allow them to address accusations related to extrajudicial killings and drug trafficking.
Manila 6th District Rep. Bienvenido Abante Jr. noted that Duterte and Dela Rosa did not attend previous hearings but emphasized the importance of their presence.
Antipolo 2nd District Rep. Romeo Acop assured respect for both figures, regardless of their decision to attend.
The committees, tasked under House Resolution No. 1880, have been exploring ties between Pogos, illegal drugs, and alleged extrajudicial killings.
