Former Philippine National Police (PNP) chiefs have denied allegations of receiving payoffs from former Bamban mayor Alice Guo.
Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. and Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr. dismissed rumors, calling them baseless.
These allegations were brought up by BGen. Raul Villanueva during a Senate panel investigating links between Guo and illegal Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs).
Villanueva stated the intelligence community had rumors of a former PNP chief involved, but could not confirm any names.
The National Intelligence Coordinating Agency also reported no evidence of a PNP official receiving payoffs from Guo.
