FLOODING BLOCKS PARTS OF NLEX, MACARTHUR HIGHWAY IN BULACAN

Heavy rains flooded parts of Bulacan, making sections of major roads, including the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and MacArthur Highway, impassable, the provincial disaster office said Sunday.

In Meycauayan City, knee-deep floods blocked both NLEX directions in Barangay Libtong, while several nearby roads were also inaccessible.

Flooding also affected roads in Hagonoy, Calumpit, Balagtas, Sta. Maria, Bocaue, Marilao, and Pulilan.

In Calumpit, some areas were completely submerged, leaving boats as the only means of transportation.

Meanwhile, water releases from Bustos Dam increased as its water level neared the spilling elevation, while Ipo and Angat dams also continued to rise.
