FILIPINOS SEEK EXIT AS TENSIONS IN ISRAEL-IRAN ESCALATE

The number of Filipinos requesting repatriation from Israel and Iran has risen to 109, with 24 filing their requests following recent Israeli missile and drone attacks.

Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Cacdac said most had already planned to return even before the latest hostilities.

Meanwhile, Malacañang assured that fuel and agricultural subsidies are ready if global oil prices exceed $80 per barrel, with current Dubai crude at $73.

The government has allocated ₱2.5 billion for transport fuel subsidies and ₱585 million for farmers and fisherfolk, while also preparing contingency plans to offset fertilizer price hikes.

The Department of Foreign Affairs called for de-escalation in the region, expressing concern for the welfare of Filipinos and regional stability.
