A Filipino seafarer went missing after a chemical tanker and a container ship collided off the northeast coast of England on March 10, 2025.
The collision occurred in the Humber Estuary, Hull, between the MV Solong and the Oil Tanker Stena Immaculate.
The missing seafarer, an able seaman aboard the MV Solong, was last seen at the bow of the ship, which caught fire after a massive explosion.
Eight other Filipino crew members and five Russian crew members were rescued safely and are now staying in a hotel in Grimsby, London, pending repatriation.
UK authorities are investigating the cause of the collision, and the manning agency is in contact with the missing seafarer’s family, offering support during this challenging time.
