DY CALLS ON LAWMAKERS, AGENCIES TO RAMP UP PREPAREDNESS FOR TYPHOON UWAN

House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III on Saturday urged lawmakers, local officials, and communities to coordinate closely in preparation for Severe Tropical Storm Uwan, which may intensify into a super typhoon.

He called for cooperation among national agencies, local government units, and barangays in Northern and Central Luzon to ensure an organized and timely response before, during, and after the storm.

Dy warned residents not to be complacent and emphasized the importance of preparedness, especially in low-lying and coastal areas.

The state weather bureau forecasts Uwan could bring severe damage, power outages, and disruptions to essential services, with the possibility of reaching Signal No. 5, the highest storm warning level.

He also reminded the public to secure necessities, stay informed through official advisories, and evacuate if authorities instruct.
