Former President Rodrigo Duterte sparked controversy at a PDP-Laban rally with a joking remark about killing 15 senators to ensure his party’s candidates could win.
Duterte suggested that eliminating senators could create vacancies for his slate, jokingly adding that a bomb could be used.
His comment was met with backlash, and some senators may consider filing legal action over the threat.
Additionally, Duterte criticized President Marcos, accusing him of drug addiction and failing to address rising rice prices, drawing a refusal from Malacañang to comment.
Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte expressed support for PDP-Laban’s senatorial candidates in a written message, opting not to attend the rally in person.
