Former President Rodrigo Duterte will not attend today’s House hearing on alleged extrajudicial killings (EJKs) during his administration.
Duterte’s lawyer, Martin Delgra III, stated that the former president questioned the integrity of the committee and called the inquiry politically motivated.
Delgra also expressed concerns about the committee’s handling of witnesses, alleging undue pressure for false testimony.
Duterte had already appeared before a Senate hearing in October, where he discussed the drug war and EJKs.
Duterte suggested that the committee review the Senate hearing’s transcript instead.
