The Department of Health (DOH) has issued a recommendation advising parents and caregivers against bringing young children, especially infants and toddlers, to cemeteries during the upcoming Undas observance.
In a statement on Monday, DOH emphasized the risks associated with overcrowding, intense heat, and sudden downpours that could lead to health issues in small children.
Despite the plateauing of COVID-19 infections, Herbosa emphasized that the virus still poses a threat, particularly to children who have lower resistance against infections.
The agency also cautioned against purchasing food and drinks from roving vendors both inside and outside cemeteries because of the concern that these items could be contaminated, potentially compromising the health and safety of customers.
Instead, visitors are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks to ensure their well-being.
By following these recommendations, individuals can help maintain the health and safety of themselves and their families during the Undas observance.
