The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) announced that no elected official in the May 2025 polls will be allowed to assume office without submitting their Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE).
As mandated by law, candidates and political parties must file their SOCE by June 11, 2025, with no extensions allowed.
The DILG emphasized that oath-taking and assumption of office will be invalid without compliance, underscoring the SOCE’s role in ensuring transparency in campaign financing.
Regional offices have been instructed to verify SOCE submissions with the Commission on Elections (Comelec) before permitting any official to take office.
Repeat violators risk not only fines but also lifetime disqualification from public service.
