Fuel prices are set to surge sharply on April 7, with diesel expected to increase by as much as ₱18.80 per liter due to continued spikes in global oil prices.
Oil companies, including Petron, Seaoil, and Jetti Petroleum, announced major price hikes affecting diesel, gasoline, and kerosene across stations nationwide.
Diesel prices in some areas could reach nearly ₱147 per liter, while kerosene and gasoline are also expected to rise significantly, further straining transport costs and household budgets.
The Department of Energy noted that the increases follow already elevated pump prices in Metro Manila in recent weeks.
