The Department of Education (DepEd) received 160 reports related to the 2025 midterm elections, including malfunctioning vote-counting machines, missing voter names, and teacher health concerns.
DepEd Media Relations chief Dennis Legaspi said these issues are being addressed in coordination with the Comelec, PNP, and other agencies.
Overvoting incidents also led to invalidated party-list votes in some areas. Education Secretary Sonny Angara directed swift action to protect the welfare of teachers and poll workers, thanking them publicly for their service.
Meanwhile, the Makabayan bloc criticized the new automated election system, citing transparency concerns over unannounced software changes that could undermine election integrity.
