Converge ICT Solutions has urged the government to set clear regulatory rules following the passage of the Konektadong Pinoy law, which aims to expand internet access and improve competition.
CEO Dennis Anthony Uy said the law’s implementing rules and regulations (IRR) must guarantee a level playing field while protecting consumers from substandard services.
He stressed the importance of stronger regulatory enforcement, citing South Korea as an example where regulators can hold telecom CEOs accountable for violations.
Uy also highlighted the need for standardized service delivery and robust cybersecurity measures to safeguard networks against scams and cyberthreats.
The new law is expected to be a game-changer in making internet services more affordable and accessible for millions of Filipinos.
