Comedian, satirist Willie Nepomuceno dies at 75

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, July 26) — Willie Nepomuceno, the satirist, comedian, and impersonator who has entertained Filipinos for decades has died. He was 75 years old.

His family confimed his death on his Facebook page on Wednesday.

“It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart to announce the passing of our beloved father, WILLIE NEPOMUCENO on July 26, 2023, at the age of 75. He has peacefully joined our creator,” the announcement said.

Hundreds of messages of condolence have been posted on the announcement.

His son, Willie Wilsson Nepomuceno posted a tribute to his father on his Facebook page.

“Thank you, Tatay, for your unwavering love and for being an incredible father. Your legacy will forever be engraved in my heart. Rest well, knowing that you are deeply loved and missed,” he wrote.

Nepomuceno is best known for his impersonation of political figures, among them past presidents Ferdinand E. Marcos, Fidel Ramos, Joseph Estrada, and Benigno Aquino III.

His family said details of the wake would be announced soon.
