CHINESE EMBASSY SEEKS PROBE RESULTS AFTER EDSA BUSWAY DISPUTE

The Chinese Embassy in the Philippines has requested the final results of an investigation into a traffic altercation at the Edsa busway after the incident was linked to China.

The altercation occurred on Friday morning when an SUV with US Embassy diplomatic plates was stopped for illegally using the busway.

Tensions escalated when a passenger in the vehicle protested the photographing of a passport, citing concerns about Chinese espionage.

Despite the heated exchange, the situation was resolved when the driver was issued a Temporary Operator’s Permit.

The Chinese Embassy expressed concern over the “baseless accusations” and demanded clarity on the investigation’s outcome, while the US Embassy emphasized its commitment to following local laws.
