Filipino gymnast and Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo will be awarded the Presidential Medal of Merit, while other athletes who competed in the Paris Olympics will receive presidential citations during a heroes’ welcome at Malacañang today.
President Marcos will lead the celebration of the Philippines’ historic achievement at the 2024 Olympics, where the country secured two gold and two bronze medals.
The athletes will arrive in the Philippines this evening and will be honored in a ceremony at Malacañang, followed by a parade through Manila tomorrow.
Security and traffic measures are in place to ensure a smooth and safe event.
Speaker Martin Romualdez and the Provincial Council of Pangasinan have also extended their congratulations to Yulo and the other athletes for their remarkable achievements.
