Sen. Bong Go extended assistance to families affected by the recent earthquake in Davao Oriental through two relief operations facilitated by the national government.
On Jan. 21, his team distributed grocery packs, vitamins, and necessities to 30 affected residents in Barangay Cambaleon, San Isidro, in coordination with local officials.
A second activity on Jan. 23 in Governor Generoso provided relief goods, housing materials, and shelter repair kits to 20 beneficiaries to support home rehabilitation.
Go reiterated his advocacy for stronger disaster preparedness, citing the Ligtas Pinoy Centers Act (RA 12076), which mandates the establishment of permanent evacuation centers nationwide.
He also renewed his call for the passage of Senate Bill 173, creating a Department of Disaster Resilience to centralize and strengthen disaster response efforts.
