Makati City Mayor and senatorial aspirant Abby Binay has called for expanded PhilHealth coverage to include the cost of regular checkups, X-rays, and blood tests.
She emphasized that preventive healthcare measures are more affordable than treating severe ailments later on.
Binay also advocated for free maintenance medications, as well as free and unlimited dialysis and chemotherapy sessions for vulnerable sectors.
She believes providing free or affordable medicines would significantly help families burdened by costly treatments for serious illnesses like cancer, diabetes, and kidney disease.
Binay stressed that quality healthcare should be accessible to everyone in need, reducing the financial strain on families.
