Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte reaffirmed her commitment to advancing women’s rights, emphasizing that more work is needed despite significant progress.
In her State of the Women’s Address, she highlighted the city’s initiatives, including increased business opportunities for women, scholarships, and expanded healthcare services.
Belmonte noted that 40% of the city’s 70,000 businesses are led by women, employing over 200,000 female residents.
She also underscored the local government’s efforts to address women’s health issues and strengthen protections against gender-based violence.
Calling for collective action, Belmonte urged all sectors to work toward a future where every woman has dignity, freedom, and equal opportunities.
