Commuters will face higher public transport fares starting September 28, with increases covering jeepneys, buses, airport taxis, TNVS, and point-to-point buses.
Traditional jeepney fares will rise to P14 for the first four kilometers, while modern jeepney fares will increase to P17, with additional charges for succeeding kilometers.
Bus fares will also increase, while airport taxi rates will rise to P115 for the first 500 meters, and TNVS base fares will range from P55 to P165 depending on the vehicle type.
Point-to-point bus fares will increase by 15%, while provisional fare hikes were also announced for UV Express vehicles and taxis.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board said the new rates were approved by the Department of Transportation after the previous suspension on fare increases was lifted.
