The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) will begin releasing a one-time P25,000 financial assistance to 19,000 nursing and allied health sciences students in October.
The assistance, called the Allied Health Experiential Assistance for Deserving Students (AHEAD) Grant, will help cover expenses related to students’ Related Learning Experience (RLE).
CHED Chairperson Shirley Agrupis confirmed that the first releases will start in the first week of October and continue through November.
The program received 60,424 applications, with 28,071 applicants qualifying but funding available for only 19,000 beneficiaries.
Senator Bam Aquino, who helped secure P500 million for the program, urged CHED to ensure timely aid and sufficient support for students to complete their degrees.
