Former senator Bam Aquino has been appointed as the chairman of the Katipunan ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KANP), a political party focused on youth empowerment in national governance.
Human rights lawyer Chel Diokno announced Aquino’s new role, emphasizing his legislative experience and achievements, which are expected to enhance the party’s capacity to uplift Filipinos’ lives.
KANP lauded Aquino’s track record, particularly highlighting his contributions to education and entrepreneurship through landmark bills like the Free College Act and the Go Negosyo Act.
Aquino expressed his readiness to lead the party and present KANP as a viable alternative for Filipinos disillusioned with traditional politics, as the party gears up for the 2025 elections.
KANP also expressed readiness to endorse like-minded candidates and form alliances with similar principles in preparation for the upcoming midterm elections.
