Sen. Panfilo Lacson criticized Sen. Pia Cayetano’s emotional remarks, saying that majority bloc senators were even seen going live on Facebook during the night of the Senate shooting incident.
Lacson questioned how anyone could claim they were not checked on when some senators were “eating, drinking coffee, and on FB Live” while accusing the minority bloc of prior knowledge of the incident.
The exchange followed Cayetano’s emotional reaction to Sen. Risa Hontiveros’ statement that the Senate should not act as if nothing happened after the May 13 incident.
Hontiveros had earlier urged accountability over the incident. At the same time, Cayetano said the minority did not reach out to them, a claim later refuted by Sen. Erwin Tulfo, who said concerns were shared in a group chat.
Despite the tension, Tulfo also rejected allegations that minority senators were involved or aware of the shooting, calling such claims unsupported by evidence.
