ASEAN foreign ministers gathered in Langkawi, Malaysia, to discuss pressing regional and global issues, including the South China Sea, Myanmar, and the Middle East.
The ministers expressed concerns over land reclamation and rising tensions in the South China Sea, emphasizing the need for peaceful resolution in line with international law.
They reiterated ASEAN’s commitment to addressing Myanmar’s political crisis, condemning violence, and urging progress on the Five-Point Consensus.
In the Middle East, the group denounced attacks on civilians in Gaza and welcomed the ceasefire agreement, calling for its immediate implementation.
The retreat, under Malaysia’s chairmanship, focused on advancing ASEAN’s goals of inclusivity, sustainability, and regional resilience.
