President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has appointed Antonio Cerilles as his new adviser for Mindanao concerns.
Cerilles, a former governor of Zamboanga del Sur and ex-Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) took his oath in a ceremony at Malacañang.
Marcos praised Cerilles for his decades of public service, including roles as congressman and governor, and expressed confidence in his ability to drive progress in Mindanao.
In addition, Marcos also swore in Abdulraof Macacua as Interim Chief Minister of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA).
Macacua’s leadership comes ahead of the region’s first parliamentary elections, and Marcos hopes he will guide the region through a smooth transition.
