Sixty-eight personnel from the Land Transportation Office’s Law Enforcement Service were dismissed following an intensified anti-corruption campaign, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II announced on September 26.
The terminations came after performance evaluations and numerous complaints of bribery and extortion from motorists, netizens, and undercover agents.
Mendoza emphasized that the move aims to weed out corruption and professionalize the agency’s enforcement team.
He also pledged to personally oversee the hiring of new personnel to ensure integrity and competence.
The LTO continues efforts to improve services, including eliminating license plate backlogs and launching online platforms for license renewals.
