Phivolcs issued alerts on Monday after detecting heightened seismic activity at Kanlaon and Bulusan volcanoes, warning of potential eruptions.
Between May 11 and 12, Kanlaon recorded 135 volcanic earthquakes, including strong volcano-tectonic quakes indicating magma movement, prompting an Alert Level 3 status.
Phivolcs Director Teresito Bacolcol warned of a possible moderately explosive eruption as gas emissions declined, suggesting increasing internal pressure.
Meanwhile, Bulusan Volcano registered 309 volcanic earthquakes since May 8, most linked to shallow rock fracturing, with weak to moderate degassing observed.
Both volcanoes have restricted permanent danger zones, and residents near river channels are advised to remain alert for possible lahars during heavy rains.
