Filipinos can expect cheaper airfares in April as the government lowers the fuel surcharge in time for the peak travel season.
The Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) has reduced the surcharge to Level 4, which allows airlines to charge lower fees, ranging from P117 to P342 for domestic flights and P385.70 to P2,867.82 for international flights.
This reduction comes as jet fuel prices drop globally, benefiting travelers during the high-demand dry season.
Airlines like Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines (PAL) are expanding their flight offerings to meet growing demand, with Cebu Pacific adding new routes and PAL upgrading services to key destinations.
CAB data shows an 11% increase in passenger volume last year, further boosting confidence in the local airline industry.
