The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) denied false social media claims that President Marcos threatened to remove military pensions.
The AFP called the allegations baseless and malicious, emphasizing that no such directive or policy exists.
It reiterated that military pensions are protected by law and can only be forfeited through a court conviction.
The AFP also urged Rep. Francisco Barzaga to stop spreading disinformation that harms the morale of military personnel.
Meanwhile, labor group NAGKAISA condemned the reported threat against military retirees supporting anti-corruption efforts.
