Quezon City Rep. Patrick Michael Vargas urged the government to pass key children’s health laws in observance of National Children’s Month.
He has authored three bills focused on expanding access to vaccines, early detection of vision problems, and training for teachers of children with disabilities.
The proposed measures include the Expanded Mandatory Infants and Children Health Immunization Act (HB 3769) and the Teachers of Children with Disability Enhancement Acts (HB 5086 and HB 5670), all pending in congressional committees.
Vargas emphasized that addressing health and education needs early is crucial for strengthening children’s future.
His initiatives align with the recently signed Early Childhood Care and Development System Act, which establishes a council to support children under five and promote overall child development.
