US ENVOYS VISIT ISRAEL TO SUPPORT GAZA TRUCE AMID TENSIONS

Two envoys of U.S. President Donald Trump, including Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Witkoff, visited Israel to reinforce a fragile ceasefire with Hamas following a deadly flare-up in Gaza. The truce, which came under strain after Israeli airstrikes killed dozens and aid shipments were temporarily halted, appeared to hold as humanitarian aid resumed and Israel received another hostage’s remains. Kushner and Witkoff met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who warned Hamas of severe consequences for any further attacks. U.S. Vice President JD Vance and second lady Usha Vance are also expected to meet with Israeli officials. President Trump said the U.S. would give the ceasefire “a little chance,” placing responsibility on Hamas to avoid escalation.
