Local government units in the Caraga Region are preparing for Tropical Storm Tino, which is expected to affect the area starting Monday.
As of 11 a.m., PAGASA placed Dinagat Islands, Siargao Island, and Bucas Grande Islands under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.
Governors Nilo Demerey Jr. of Dinagat and Robert Lyndon Barbers of Surigao del Norte have convened disaster councils and urged residents, especially in coastal areas, to monitor updates and take precautions.
The Coast Guard has suspended sea travel in affected areas, and the Department of Tourism advised tourists to avoid island-hopping and water activities until after the storm.
Authorities continue to coordinate preparedness measures to minimize risks from TS Tino.
