Navotas Rep. Toby Tiangco dismissed former Ako Bicol Rep. Elizaldy Co’s claims that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered P100 billion in 2025 budget insertions and received kickbacks, calling them “illogical.”
Tiangco argued that any presidential projects would have already been included in the National Expenditure Program (NEP) and noted that larger budget insertions by the House contradicted Co’s claim that only P50 billion could be accommodated.
He recounted a 2024 meeting where Marcos reportedly confronted former Speaker Martin Romualdez over alleged budget irregularities, reinforcing Tiangco’s view that any wrongdoing occurred between Romualdez and Co.
Tiangco suggested Co’s timing indicated an attempt to deflect accountability for receiving kickbacks and challenged him to release full documentation to substantiate his allegations.
He also emphasized that Co must return to the Philippines and formally testify under oath to face legal processes.
