Incumbent Senator Bong Go has emerged as the top contender in the 2025 midterm elections, leading the partial and unofficial Magic 12 with 80.5% of the votes transmitted.
In a surprising turn, opposition candidate Bam Aquino secured second place, defying pre-election predictions from Social Weather Stations and Pulse Asia.
Joining Aquino in the top ranks is Kiko Pangilinan, who secured fifth place.
The rest of the leading candidates are closely aligned with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte, reflecting the ongoing political divide between the two.
The final results of the election will play a key role in determining the 12 senators who will serve as judges in Duterte’s upcoming impeachment trial.
