The Supreme Court denied Sen. Ronald dela Rosa’s request for a temporary restraining order and status quo ante order to stop government cooperation with the International Criminal Court.
The ruling was made with a 9-5-1 vote, although the Court said it has yet to resolve the main issues of the case.
Dela Rosa had asked the Court to block his arrest, detention, or transfer in connection with an ICC warrant over alleged crimes against humanity linked to the Duterte administration’s drug war.
His petition also sought to prevent Philippine authorities from assisting any surrender to the ICC without court approval.
The Supreme Court is set to release its full decision on May 25.
