SM Prime Holdings Inc. announced a P7-billion investment to redevelop SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City, with completion expected between 2027 and 2029.
The project, designed by UK firm Benoy, will feature the “Crystal Islands” concept, focusing on natural light, open spaces, and organic forms.
It will add 20,000 square meters of retail space, new themed zones, improved mobility, and energy-efficient systems.
Upgrades include a four-level basement parking with over 1,600 slots, relocated cinemas, a new Megatrade Hall, and enhanced common areas.
The redevelopment will also incorporate green features like rainwater harvesting, LED lighting, sensor-activated escalators, and potentially solar panels to reduce energy use.
