SLIGHT DECLINE IN RICE PRICES, CHICKEN PRICES CLIMB MID-JUNE

The Philippine Statistics Authority reported a slight decrease in the average retail price of well-milled rice in mid-June, dropping to P49.13 per kilogram from P49.50 earlier in the month.

In contrast, the price of dressed chicken rose to P216.70 per kilogram, up from P214.49 in early June.

Other food items like galunggong and Baguio beans also saw price increases compared to earlier periods, while calamansi prices declined.

Notably, red onions experienced a significant price jump to P154.27 per kilogram from P105.02 in early June.

Meanwhile, cooking oil prices edged higher to P181.46 per liter, continuing an upward trend.
