The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee is still without a permanent chair, as most senators nominated by Senate President Tito Sotto have declined the position.
Senator Pia Cayetano remains open to the role, saying she will pray and think about whether she can handle the responsibility during the congressional recess.
Cayetano, who already chairs two other major committees, emphasized her duty as one of the few lawyer-senators to consider leading the committee.
Meanwhile, Sen. Erwin Tulfo has been appointed as the temporary chair of the panel.
Cayetano stressed the importance of appointing the best person to lead the committee, especially amid high public interest in ongoing flood control investigations linked to alleged government corruption.
