President Marcos is willing to engage in dialogue with lawmakers, but only on pending legislation, not on the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte, Malacañang clarified.
Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro emphasized that the President would not intervene in the impeachment process, maintaining his focus on national concerns.
Meanwhile, legal and procedural questions have emerged in the Senate after it moved to return the Articles of Impeachment to the House, a decision that critics warn may delay the trial and work in Duterte’s favor.
Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel III urged the public and legal experts not to escalate the issue to the Supreme Court to avoid further delays.
Despite challenging the proceedings, Duterte has formally entered her legal team into the impeachment trial, while maintaining her right to question its jurisdiction.
