Sen. Mark Villar filed a bill seeking to extend the validity of Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) IDs from three to five years.
Villar said the move would save professionals time and money by reducing frequent renewal transactions.
He noted that nearly 5.9 million professionals across 65 PRC-regulated professions could benefit from the measure.
Senate Bill 2391 also seeks improvements in PRC systems and administrative processes to support the longer validity period.
Villar said the proposal would reduce queues and allow professionals to focus more on their careers and public service.
