After their father was flown to The Hague to face charges at the International Criminal Court, Vice President Sara Duterte and Davao Rep. Paolo Duterte are en route to the Netherlands to assist him.
Sara Duterte left Manila early on March 12, canceling her appearance at the Araw ng Dabaw festivities in Davao City, while Paolo Duterte received travel clearance to visit his father, ensuring personal expenses would be covered.
The move follows controversy over the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte, with critics like Kabataan party-list Rep. Raoul Manuel urging Sara to join her father in jail.
Sara also criticized President Marcos, stating that she had not spoken to him about the arrest, accusing the administration of attempting to influence the 2028 elections.
Meanwhile, supporters in Zamboanga City held a candle-lighting rally to show their solidarity with the former president.
