SANDRO MARCOS: IMPEACHMENT PROCESS FACES NO ROADBLOCKS IN THE HOUSE, EVEN FOR MY FATHER

House Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos said the House of Representatives would not block any impeachment complaint, even if it involves his father, President Marcos Jr.

Speaking in Laoag City on Friday, he emphasized that the chamber is constitutionally duty-bound to act on all impeachment complaints and refer them to the House Committee on Justice.

This marks Sandro Marcos’ first public comment on recent complaints filed against the president, which allege betrayal of public trust and mishandling of the national budget and flood control projects.

The initial complaint, filed by lawyer Andre de Jesus, also accuses Marcos Jr. of enabling the surrender of former President Duterte to the ICC and questions his fitness to govern.

Critics have dismissed the first complaint as weak, prompting groups like Bagong Alyansang Makabayan and former Ilocos officials to file their own, though both complaints were temporarily rejected as the Office of the Secretary General was unavailable.
