Russia is seeking to deepen cooperation with the Philippines in energy, agriculture, tourism, and information technology as the two countries mark 50 years of diplomatic relations.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said both nations remain interested in maintaining political dialogue and expanding practical cooperation despite global challenges.
He noted that the anniversary is an opportunity to review past achievements and set the direction for future ties.
Lavrov expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation will continue to grow for the benefit of both peoples.
The Philippines and Russia established diplomatic relations on June 2, 1976, during the first Marcos administration.
