ROSAL’S CANDIDACY FOR ALBAY GOVERNOR DENIED BY COMELEC

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has disqualified Rosalyn “Rosal” Rosal from running for governor of Albay in the 2024 elections.

The disqualification stemmed from issues related to her residency and candidacy qualifications, which were contested by her political opponents.

Rosal, a former mayor of Legazpi City, had sought to regain a provincial leadership role but will now be excluded from the race.

The decision is expected to impact the political landscape in Albay as other candidates vie for the position.

Rosal has vowed to appeal the ruling, seeking a chance to challenge the decision in higher courts.
