ROCKWELL LAND ACQUIRES CONTROLLING STAKE IN ALABANG TOWN CENTER

Lopez-owned Rockwell Land Corp. has acquired a 74.8-percent controlling stake in the 17.5-hectare Alabang Town Center from Francisco Bayot Jr. and other shareholders for P21.6 billion.

The acquisition follows Ayala Land Inc.’s exit from the mall and positions Rockwell to expand its commercial footprint in a prime southern Metro Manila location.

The deal adds 137,000 square meters of gross leasable area to Rockwell’s retail and office portfolio, representing a 58-percent growth.

Rockwell Land chairman and CEO Nestor Padilla said the move opens long-term redevelopment opportunities while ensuring a smooth transition for the property’s over 500 retail and office tenants.

The acquisition complements Rockwell’s ongoing retail expansion initiatives, including projects in Pampanga, Cebu City, and Bacolod.
