ROBREDO DECLARES CANDIDACY FOR NAGA MAYOR IN 2025, SAYS LP

Former Vice President Ma. Leonor Robredo will run for mayor of Naga City in next year’s elections, as announced by the Liberal Party (LP).

The announcement was made by Erin Tañada, the party’s executive vice president, during a National Executive Council (NECO) meeting.

Robredo, who served as the country’s second-highest official from 2016 to 2022, is currently the chair of the NGO Angat Buhay, which she launched after her 2022 presidential campaign.

Her running mate, former Senator Francis Pangilinan, will also seek a Senate seat in the upcoming elections.

The LP’s slate includes Pangilinan, human rights lawyer Jose Manuel Diokno, and former Senator Paolo Benigno Aquino IV, while Tañada will run under the Mamamayang Liberal party list alongside former representatives Teddy Baguilat and Leila de Lima.
